Christine Neugebauer taught at the Isen School for more than 30 years.

Now the popular teacher has officially been adopted.

It got emotional.

Isen - When Christine Neugebauer came to Isen in 1989, she already had pedagogical experience, after all, after studying in Munich, she taught for ten years at the secondary schools in Taufkirchen and Dorfen.

Although the decision to become a "teacher for the little ones" was already made after her first school days with her "Miss", as the teachers were called at the time, she ended up going to the Hauptschule.

The reason was that after the old teacher training course she had majored in English - a subject for which teachers were needed at the Hauptschule.

"But I really liked it with the big ones right away," said the girl from Erding at the farewell party.

In Isen, Neugebauer was responsible for grades seven to nine with changing colleagues.

During this time, many friendships were formed beyond the collegial, said Neugebauer.

Stefanie Peintner, who came to the Isen school in 2004, has a very special bond with her.

"Christl taught me a lot of things," Peintner praised the great collaboration with her colleague with tears in her eyes.

Together they experienced the “most terrible class trip” to Burghausen, but also many pleasant stays in Tuscany with the final classes.

"We were just a dream team."

The fact that Neugebauer now knows which songs were in the charts in 1979 – the year in which she started as a student teacher – is thanks to headmaster Michael Oberhofer.

He packed the teacher's biographical data with a lot of humor in contemporary history and the hit parade.

“The Christl is like the showcase in the living room.

You love it and live it and now it's gone," he said.

"She was 100 percent up until her last class," he said.

Now she has time to really relax, Oberhofer said and wished "that you would drop by the school and say hello sometimes".

So that the relaxation also works, Neugebauer received a voucher for a wellness weekend from his colleagues.

And her graduating class gave a wooden lounger that the students had built themselves.

Despite the many adversities caused by Corona, she developed a special relationship with these last students.

“We were constantly in contact with each other.

I'm very happy that everyone managed to qualify," said Neugebauer.

If you ask the teacher, who is known for her structured teaching, what was most important to her about teaching, the simple answer is: "I always wanted them to learn something."

At festively set tables - home economics teacher Marianne Wörz and students of the eighth grade took care of the physical well-being and a dignified atmosphere - in the rectory in addition to former and current colleagues also husband Claus, the children Nele, Julian and Magnus and their partners, caretaker Erhard Aicher and Sonja Perner from break sales, Mayor Ullrich Gaigl and Pastor Josef Kriechbaumer Platz.

A song by the teachers' choir written in Neugebauer and thanks from Mayor Irmgard Hibler made the farewell party perfect.

"Now is the time for the next generation," said Neugebauer at the end of her 43-year school days.

She promised her colleagues: "You will remain in my heart." ANNE HUBER
