On the roof, on the facade, even along the fence: a Hohenbrunner has installed PV modules everywhere.

But now he has to take it down.

He is now considering fleeing to Spain.

Hohenbrunn – Opinions are divided on him: Twelve years ago, Hohenbrunn resident Wolfgang Pauer started installing a gigantic photovoltaic system on the family property on Rosenstrasse in Riemerling.

But he didn't just get applause for his "private energy transition".

Outraged neighbors alerted the authorities, and even the administrative court dealt with the case.

Now the argument about the solar rebel, who is fighting vehemently for his project, has reached a new high.

According to the removal order, Pauer is said to have removed most of his solar panels by July 31.

"It's sad and unfair," says Pauer.

He is now toying with the idea of rebuilding the facility in Spain.

Solar systems as far as the eye can see

Panels on the roof of the house, panels on the facade, panels on the garden sheds and garages.

Pauer even installed modules along the fence and on the carport.

According to his own statements, he installed special heat pumps, surface coolers and a storage block in order to make optimal use of the energy obtained from the sun.

"Up to now, we have used all the energy for a six-person household from the solar system in summer and in winter," he says proudly.

The house has become completely self-sufficient.

"We saved 20,000 liters of heating oil a year."

He cannot understand that this should now be the end of it.

"There have never been any problems with the neighbors because of the systems," he claims.

However, that is not true.

Citizens had already complained to the municipality in 2013 - partly because of the appearance, partly because they feared for their safety.

In fact, an expert expressed concerns about the statics and did not want to rule out a fire hazard.

His conclusion at the time: The system was "wild".

The district office, in turn, saw several violations of building law and ordered part of the facility to be dismantled.

On the other hand, Pauer complained in vain.

In 2015, representatives of the administrative court assessed the facility on Rosenstrasse.

"Tricky case": The process has dragged on for years

"We had to make some changes to the system back then," says Pauer today about the administrative court's decision from 2015. As can be heard from the district office, the panels that were the subject of the complaint were never removed.

"When the order was supposed to be enforced, he said he had dismantled the facilities and the property owner had rebuilt them," says authority spokeswoman Franziska Herr.

The owner is Pauer's mother Christa.

Since then, the process has dragged on and has again occupied the courts.

According to Herr, the latest order by the authorities to remove all other parts of the system by July 31, with the exception of the solar panels on the house roof and on the gable end of the building, was confirmed by both the Administrative Court and the Administrative Court.

Pauer has now applied for an extension of the deadline.

"This will be checked," says Herr.

She speaks of a "tricky case", because on the one hand PV systems are needed to achieve the energy turnaround, on the other hand you have to comply with building planning regulations and recognize neighboring rights.

Provocative: Pauer claims on a poster that Söder is forcing him to use fossil fuels.

Pauer frustrated – thoughts abroad “the consequence”

Wolfgang Pauer further claims to have complied with all building regulations and sees himself as a victim of dishonest machinations.

On the Internet and on a large banner at his driveway, he railed against the Bavarian “Solar Demolition Ordinance” and politicians from the “CSU/CDU empire”.

At the same time, according to his own statements, he wants to spend 250,000 euros to have the PV system dismantled and transported to Spain.

He wants to look for a piece of land there and then feed the electricity generated by the system into the Spanish grid: "That is the consequence of this German energy policy."
