In an accident in Bavaria, a BMW left the road, flew several meters through the air and crashed into trees.

Both occupants die.

Augsburg – There are only the remains of a car that are lifted from the street during the clean-up work.

Before that, there had been a serious accident.

Then he went off the road - two people die.

According to the police press release, it is not yet known why the BMW suddenly left the road.

As reported by

, the car then flew several meters through the air and crashed into trees on the side of the road with full force.

The impact ripped the car into pieces and both occupants - the 74-year-old driver and his 63-year-old passenger - died instantly.

Only a wire-haired dachshund survived the accident, apparently only slightly injured.

The fire brigade brought the probably deeply frightened four-legged friend to a veterinary clinic.

BMW system sends an emergency call – large-scale deployment of the rescue services

The BMW had come to a standstill on a fairly steep and difficult-to-access embankment next to the road.

The emergency call system E-Call installed in the BMW made the emergency services aware of the accident and they were able to quickly find the crashed car.

An expert should now clarify the exact cause of the accident.

The district road was closed for around five hours in the evening.

Numerous forces from the police, fire brigade and emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter were deployed.
