On sweltering hot days you need a delicious ice cream.
Animals also love refreshments specially prepared for them.
But some can't handle the cold.
Many people love ice cream, especially in summer.
Because on sweltering hot days, a little cooling is just what you need - and often it can't go fast enough.
But a hasty gulp down the cold balls immediately triggers "brain freeze" in some.
A video on TikTok in which a cat tries ice cream for the first time shows that animals apparently feel the same way.
At the first bite of ice cream, the cat grimaces.

Cat tries ice cream for the first time - and almost faints
Although most four-legged friends like to eat it on hot summer days: not all animals tolerate ice cream.
This is also shown by a cat video with more than 13 million views that a TikToker from Canada posted on her channel "sabrina_bernatchez".
Although the clip is a bit older, it makes it very clear that animals can get what is known as a “brain freeze” just like humans when they eat cold food.
Because the cat's reaction is more than clear: she didn't expect that.
The reaction of a helpful cat after a child has buried a bunch of keys in a hole in the wall is also completely unexpected.
Shortly after the cat licks some of the ice cream for the first time, it throws its head back and looks a bit dazed.
It almost looks as if the velvet paw is about to faint.
She stares at the ceiling with her mouth wide open, shakes her head from side to side and finally sinks into the chair at the kitchen table.
Since she no longer seems to be in complete control of her senses, the owner holds a protective hand next to her so that the velvet paw doesn't fall off the chair.
Owners should also secure their balcony to keep their cats from falling.
By the way: "Brain freeze" occurs when cold food is eaten too quickly.
When consumed, this becomes noticeable through a stabbing pain behind the forehead, which is triggered by a cold stimulus on the palate or the back of the throat.
Researchers suspect that the trigeminal nerve and the alar palatine ganglion on the face are involved in causing cold headaches.
Cat tries ice cream for the first time - it's best to prepare it yourself
Although ice cream isn't exactly one of the cat's favorite foods in the funny video, many animals enjoy the delicious refreshment on hot summer days.
However, owners should not use normal ice cream from the supermarket or ice cream parlor, as this contains milk or cream.
In addition, many harmful additives can hide in it.
The alternative: best to prepare it yourself.
For dogs, for example, some natural yoghurt, quark or cottage cheese with compatible fruit such as strawberries or bananas is suitable.
However, since cats cannot tolerate milk or cream due to their lactose intolerance, normal ice cream is also taboo for them and not suitable cat food.
This can lead to diarrhea, abdominal pain and digestive problems.
But if you still want to cool off your velvet paw, you can simply freeze some wet food.
Unseasoned chicken or tuna in its own juice can also be processed into tasty delicacies.
To do this, boil the chicken or drain the fish, puree with a little liquid, fill into an ice cube mold and place in the freezer.
