"This week with redemption" (here news)
A corporation presenter here, Geola Ibn-Saar, resigned this morning (Sunday).
"I have always believed in public broadcasting and for 30 years I have remained faithful to it while maintaining an uncompromising commitment to professionalism for the sake of the viewers," she wrote in her message.
"Unfortunately, I was not given the proper professional opportunity to continue and do this. Every woman is not only the man she is married to."
Ibn-Saar's resignation follows the decision of the Broadcasting Corporation's internal ethics committee about two weeks ago, according to which she cannot continue presenting "Hashav" during the Knesset election campaign.
This, against the background of her marriage to the Minister of Justice and Deputy Prime Minister, Gideon Sa'ar.

The decision went into effect immediately and will last until election day, November 1.
The committee adopted the position of the management of the news division headed by Baruch Shay and his deputy Elial Shahar-Lis.
The submission of the program has already been transferred to substitute presenters in recent weeks, while the issue is being examined.

The committee stated that, among other things, in its decision that "in this situation, where every news issue that comes up for discussion is of political significance, there is a serious concern for a conflict of interest (...) The members of the committee believe that in order to preserve public trust in the corporation's broadcasts and given that the 'Kan' corporation provides a service For the sake of the public and public funding, the rules of professional ethics must be adhered to."
It was later announced that Ibn-Saar sent a letter through her lawyer against the decision to suspend her from current affairs and news broadcasts during the election period.
