The Syrian drama industry, re-casting it, standing at the obstacles in front of it and overcoming the difficulties, are today the makers of this art that reflects the image of society, as the specialists in the workshop “Syrian Drama.. Thought Industry and Social Responsibility” held by the Ministry of Information and the Film and Television Industry Committee held the responsibility for the constructive discussion. With impartiality and objective criticism to reach outputs that would elevate the reality of Syrian drama.

On the sidelines of the workshop, SANA met with a number of participants to get their opinions, as the Director General of the General Authority for Radio and Television Habib Salman explained that this workshop, which was organized by the Ministry of Information and the Film Industry Committee, brings together partners in the drama industry to discuss various aspects, stressing the need to start from key questions, which are: We want a dramatic industry, and when we answer this question, we will come out of the workshop with a work schedule to fortify this industry and society.

Salman indicated that this workshop should sound the alarm bell to immunize this industry against flatness and distortion of values, and that it bears the values of tolerance and love that express the Syrian self by setting executable plans and measurable goals.

For his part, director Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed indicated in a similar statement that what colleagues presented in the workshops are not enough points of view, but that there must be practical steps, pointing to the need to present a competitive product and determine the controls and the responsibility of decision-makers in this industry.

Ahmed emphasized that the judge who judges this product is the people. People, through their follow-up to the work, are able to determine what works and what does not, set general strategic controls and leave freedom to the creator for his creativity.

In turn, the artist Firas Ibrahim said: We must be optimistic and I feel that there is seriousness in dealing with the Syrian drama and its status and our responsibility to participate and listen to opinions. There is seriousness in the proposal and if sincere intentions are taken, things will turn for the better.

While musician Taher Mamli wished success for the workshop and finding solutions to the obstacles facing the drama industry, and that the results would be tangible and not just on the table, pointing out that there were ideas that were raised out of jealousy and love for the profession.

While director Walid Darwish made it clear that the workshop is very important, and we have two options, either the bad social media drama or the foreign-funded drama, especially since drama is the face of society and must show Syria in its true form, that is, Syria of civilization and history.
