Spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council, Abu al-Fadl Amawi, considered that his country is able today to play a role in the international energy market, stressing the need to lift sanctions to enable it to do so in the required manner.
In a statement to IRNA, Amoy explained that Iran possesses the largest total reserves of oil and gas in the world, and this is what makes it able to play an active role in the field of energy.
He pointed out that Iran has capabilities to increase oil production, but it needs more investment and removal of obstacles to achieving this, stressing that lifting sanctions will contribute to increasing its oil and gas exports.
