Following the fatal accident in Nueva, the Egyptian police take matters into their own hands on the Sinai roads, and organize minibus convoys accompanied by a speeding car according to law.
Israeli tourists say that they are stopped at a checkpoint, waiting for enough taxis and minibuses to gather and a car accompanying the road between Sharm and Taba.

"When we arrived," says an Israeli tourist, "the day before the accident they were raging on the roads here. The day after the accident, the Egyptians put up roadblocks and don't give any more room for raging on the road. Maybe they will apply this to the Negev roads with the Bedouins as well."
"The procedure now: at the checkpoint, drivers are taken away from their licenses, waiting for more vehicles to arrive. A police vehicle drives by, followed by a convoy of tourist taxis. It's like that between each settlement. We were in Nueva, now we've arrived in Dahab. There we arrived at a new checkpoint and again we're waiting for a police vehicle to take us to Sharm. It lengthens the trip by an hour," says an Israeli on the way.
