The case of the abuse of special-needs "Bnei Zion" wards in Rosh Ha'Ein: a second wave of indictments against caregivers at the "Bnei Zion" daycare center for abusing helpless wards.

The Central District Attorney's Office (Criminal) today (Sunday) submitted to the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court nine additional indictments against day care workers for harming the helpless.

The nine defendants, each according to his part, because as part of their work at the day care center, they used to abuse the wards in their care and avoided reporting assaults witnessed by other caregivers. Moreover, some of the defendants attacked the wards both by beating them, sometimes also with various objects, Spraying substances on their faces, pushing them towards objects, etc.

According to the indictments filed by attorney Mittal Ilan, the nine defendants worked at different times as caretakers at the "Kfar Bnei Zion" residence for the elderly in Rosh Ha'Ein. The defendants were part of a team that was entrusted with the care of residents aged 20-50. By virtue of their role as caretakers at the residence, they had to take care of for the daily needs of the patrons.

As you may remember, the case was revealed at the beginning of the year after Jose's family members in the residence filed a complaint with the police about bruises discovered on his body.

The police investigators seized the security cameras in the daycare center for investigation and discovered severe abuse by caregivers towards the children.

Among other things, caregivers were seen beating children, dragging them, slapping them on the bed, urinating in their bed, hitting them with a mop pole and other severe cases.

In February of this year, serious indictments were submitted to the District Court in Lod against several therapists, including Lait Salama, 24 years old from Kalanseva, for the offenses of abuse of a helpless person by a person in charge and an indecent act against a person in charge of a person in charge.

The indictment recounts hundreds of cases in which Salama abused, on a daily basis, 17 disabled and special-needs guardians he was entrusted with caring for.

Details of the current indictments:

The indictments against Mahmoud Foz (53) from Teyiba and Asad Zabadi (58) from Klanswa each include three charges and attribute to them the offenses of helpless assault by a person responsible causing actual damage and simple assault;

An indictment against Ahmed Zamiro (31) from Klanswa includes three charges and attributes to him the offenses of helpless assault by a person in charge causing actual injury and breach of duty to report;

The indictment against Rami Raed (37) from Kalanseva includes six charges and charges him with the offenses of violating the obligation to report and simple assault;

An indictment against Omar Salama (26) from Kalansawa includes two charges and attributes to him the offenses of violating the obligation to report and simple assault;

The indictment against Abir Jaber (45) from Teyiba includes two charges and attributes to her the crimes of violation of reporting duty and simple assault;

The indictment against Louis Sultan (45) from Tira includes two charges and attributes to him the offense of simple assault;

The indictments against Nuraldin Badran (28) from Tira and Mohammed Salama (24) from Kalansawa each include one charge and charge them with the offense of simple assault;
