Nine months after the defense establishment prepared the terrorist salary report for 2021, the cabinet today (Sunday) approved the offset of 600 million shekels from the tax money that Israel transfers to the Palestinian Authority.
An official in the defense system says that the beginning of August is the fixed date of the offset.
It should be noted that on the offset side, Defense Minister Gantz made available to the Palestinians a loan in the amount of NIS 500 million that has not yet been repaid.
In addition, advance the date of tax payments to "current plus zero", so that in practice the Palestinians will not feel the offset.
As you may recall, the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs and Finance recently imposed secrecy on a "loan" that Israel made to the Palestinian Authority, in the amount of at least half a billion shekels.
The meaning of the secret loan is the emptying of the content of the law on offsetting terrorists' salaries.
The granting of the loan was approved in the summer by Defense Minister Benny Gantz after meeting with PA chairman Abu Mazen.
