Somali forces announced today the killing of three militants of the extremist Al-Shabab movement in a security operation in the southwest of the country.
The Chinese news agency, Xinhua, quoted the military official who led the operation, Aidaros Abdullah Sheikh, as saying that the Somali army and forces from the southwestern region carried out a joint attack yesterday near the village of Toswin in Bardal district against terrorists with the aim of driving them out of the area for harassing and displacing many residents and killing three gunmen, while Many of them fled after receiving severe injuries.
For years, Somalia has been witnessing suicide terrorist attacks and attacks carried out by the extremist Somali Al-Shabab movement, which is linked to Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, which resulted in hundreds of victims.
