The video that immortalizes an English tourist bathing in the Artichoke fountain in Piazza Trieste e Trento, right in the center of Naples, has gone viral, and talks to some guys on scooters who are filming him in shorts.
The video was sent by some "indignant" citizens to the regional councilor of Europa Verde, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who disclosed it.
"The same Prefect - says Borrelli - after the last episode of a robbery with a gun to a tourist had announced greater checks that apparently are not taking place. A stupid and uncivilized fashion is to bathe in the monumental fountains that now seem have also infected tourists. What I find unacceptable is the absolute absence of control in such a central square of the city, a few meters from the Prefecture and the buildings of the institutions, which has recently been the scene of numerous criminal episodes against tourists and citizens. The absence of controls evidently favors irresponsible, uncivilized and criminal behavior, offering a degrading image of a city that fails to defend and protect its monumental treasures and the safety of citizens ".
