The activities of the second day of the Tenth Dilba Forum for Culture and Arts in the town of Mashta al-Helou in Tartous governorate, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture, witnessed a mosaic workshop and drawing on sandstone, which added an atmosphere of joy and happiness and spread the spirit of cooperation and initiative among children, parents and visitors to the town.
The general supervisor of the forum, Wael Sabbagh, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the activities of the second day of the festival included the launch of the mosaic workshop, in which the face of the Syrian Empress (Julia Domna) will be formed, with a length of one meter and a width of 70 cm as a symbol of the Syrian woman under the supervision of the artist Bassam Baydoun and with the participation of families and children under the tree. The artist and sculptor Bassam Baydoun indicated that his participation in the forum is the second, where children will participate in making a mosaic by (Julia Domna), in addition to drawing Arabic letters and geometric shapes with mosaics, explaining that it is important to introduce children to this art as an ancient, well-known and heritage Syrian.
Beydoun pointed out that he will resort to expressive abstract art, where he will present small sandstone sculptures under the tree, noting the importance of working with children in an atmosphere filled with happiness and a love of learning because they have the initiative to participate in this forum.
Yana Halal from the Anis Saadeh Association, and for the second time participating in the festival, explained that 14 children benefiting from the (Amal Project) of the association participate in the festival to get acquainted with the art of mosaic closely, indicating that the festival constituted an opportunity to meet and meet under the tree.
