However, the septuagenarian has not completely disappeared from the radar since he remains in charge of the short programs of the Française des Jeux and ensures the annual Miss France meeting.
An election which he welcomes every year despite its share of controversy related to the image of women.
“I always look forward to the detractors of the beauty pageant.
I expect them from next November 15,”
he concludes, not without a hint of humour.
