There was a huge crowd at the classic car meeting in Kemoding.

Club boss Rudi Obermeier said overwhelmed: "We are at the capacity limit."

Kemoding

- It's hard to believe what suddenly comes to light in terms of historic vehicles from garages in the district when the classic car friends invite Kemoding to their meeting - this time in the 20th anniversary year (we reported).

"Our small town has 100 inhabitants, but today there are over 600 different motorcycles, cars, fire service vehicles and tractors on our event area," summarized the chairman of the association, Rudi Obermeier.

At the same moment he moaned, happy and exhausted at the same time: "We are at the limit of capacity".

Historical rarities could already be admired on the outward journey in the direction of the oldtimer barn.

Sometimes at a snail's pace, sometimes at breakneck speed, the owners moved to Kemoding with their "sweethearts" to show themselves together with others and to exchange ideas.

Even the visitor parking lot could hardly hold the crowd of cars, a long traffic jam at the hospitality stand.

"In over an hour I chugged here from Erding with my Fendt Dieselross from 1939", explained owner Günter Gregorek and proudly showed the original papers of his old tractor.

Next to him was Stefan Aicher from Berglern with his Eicher 16 from 1952. “My great-grandfather bought it new.

Externally, it clearly shows patina, but technically it's in top shape, just like on the first day".

Günther Hinterseer from Taufkirchen presented his original American team in a somewhat more modern way: The towing vehicle was a Ford 3000 tractor with a three-cylinder engine and 48 hp, with a much smaller machine on the trailer behind it.

"This is a John Deere Garden tractor with 8 hp, I only use it for mowing the lawn and clearing snow."

A light blue, delicate Goggomobil TS 250 Coupé by Udo Schumertl from Hörlkofen drove there on its own.

Many admirers stood around the tiny creature.

The 60-year-old, chic DKW sedan 1000 S de Luxe in wine red by Stefan Bachmaier from Landersdorf also came from this era.

The fact that a lot of work is necessary for the preservation of a classic car was proven by the 13-year-long construction phase of a Wartburg 311 Coupé: Gerd Trippner from Neuching has combined the former automotive pride of the GDR from three desolate cars into one magnificent car, and can even do 120 km/h with it. drive.

There are many more stories to tell, from English and Italian dream roadsters, from Bavarian luxury limousines or from youngsters from Porsche and Mercedes.

Anyone who has seen the enthusiasm for these gems can hardly imagine how great the pain will be when the ban on combustion engines is due.
