The calls to boycott the Diplomat company - worked temporarily:
after the Diplomat company declared their intention to raise prices as of August 1st, this evening (Monday) they announced that they were postponing it after the holidays.
The company signaled to the chains that those who do not approve the price increase after the holidays - will not receive supplies.
"בימים האחרונים דיפלומט הציעה לכל לקוחותיה ברשתות השיווק מתווה, הכולל רצף מבצעים כדי שהצרכן יוכל להינות מהמחיר הקודם עד לאחר החגים. לקוחות שלא יאשרו את המתווה המוצע - לא יסופק סחורה", מסרו בחברה, והוסיפו: "דיפלומט מעודדת תחרות ועושה כל שביכולתה להתמודד מולה במקצועיות. החברה עושה מאמצים רבים למנוע עליות מחירים, אך עקב האינפלציה ועלייה בתשומות גלובליות, הנושא עלה בידה רק באופן חלקי".

בחברה הזכירו כי הם פועלים בחמש מדינות בעולם ומעסיקה כ-2,500 עובדים, מתוכם כ-750 בישראל.
כאמור, חרם צרכנים כבד הופעל על דיפלומט בימים האחרונים, זאת לאחר שהעיתונאי גיא לרר הוביל את השיח הציבורי סביב הכוונה של אחת היבואניות הגדולות בישראל להעלות מחירים. לעיתונאי הצטרף יו"ר ההסתדרות, ארנון בר-דוד, שמנהל בימים אלה קמפיין מאסיבי בעניין.
