The ship will arrive in Turkey on Tuesday, and from there it will continue to Lebanon, which is currently experiencing a severe grain crisis.

After the fragile agreement reached between Moscow and Kiev under Turkish auspices, the first shipment of Ukrainian grain left the port in Odessa in the morning (Monday) for Istanbul, with 26 thousand tons of corn - the UN confirmed.

The ship, named "Razoni", is expected to arrive in Turkey on Tuesday, and from there the goods will continue to their final destination: Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, which is currently experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine they expect that this will also ease their economic situation, after five months of continuous war against Russia.

"Today Ukraine is taking another step to prevent world hunger," said Alexander Kuberkov, the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure.

"The opening of the ports will provide at least a billion dollars for the economy, and an opportunity for the agricultural sector to plan for next year."

Kuberkov further added that there are already 16 ships ready and waiting to leave the port.

"safe corridor"

As you may recall, last month Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement allowing a "safe corridor" for the export of 22 million tons of wheat through the Black Sea.

Ukraine is usually one of the strongest countries in the world in the export of grains, an activity that has been significantly affected since the beginning of the war.
