Against the backdrop of the failed discussions on the Iranian nuclear issue, the US Secretary of State announced today (Monday) that his country has added six Iranian companies to the administration's blacklist due to their activities in the alleged illegal trade of "oil and petrochemical products".
This was published in an official statement by the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, in which he stated that "the United States will continue to use authorities to attack Iranian exports of these products until Iran is ready to return to full implementation of its obligations under the mutual return to the nuclear agreement."
We have imposed sanctions on entities trading in Iranian petroleum and petrochemicals.
We will keep using our authorities to target Iran's exports of these products until Iran is ready to return to full implementation of its commitments under a mutual return to the JCPOA.

This is another stage of the escalation between the countries against the background of the failed discussions surrounding the original nuclear agreement which the US left unilaterally in 2018 during the days of President Trump's term. Among the companies that have been sanctioned are Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co, which specializes in the export of petrochemical products to the East Asia, one of the largest companies in the industry in Iran.
