Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, affirmed that the government will spare no effort in providing possible support to the drama sector and researching all possible financial facilities to reduce production costs and enhance the competitiveness of the drama product, whether through customs and financial exemptions or by providing appropriate credit and banking facilities.

In a speech during the activities of the workshop (Syrian Drama.. Think Industry and Social Responsibility) held by the Ministry of Information and the Film Industry Committee, Eng. Arnous stressed that the government is ready to provide all administrative and logistical facilities to enhance the planned and conscious integration of the drama sector with its environment and surroundings through joint conferences, exhibitions and festivals. Pointing out the importance of meeting with stakeholders in the drama industry, which is one of the most important sectors of human development because of its vital role.

Engineer Arnous expressed his hope that this workshop will be a real opportunity to analyze the reality of the drama industry, identify the most important difficulties it suffers from, and present proposals to overcome them objectively and practically according to a clear and transparent work plan, and that it will be an opportunity to set the parameters of a national charter for dramatic production, which is to ensure that the dramatic production is Committed and responsible towards our national issues with realistic presentation and clarity of purpose and role of the dramatic product.

Engineer Arnous stressed that the drama industry is a joint responsibility between the public and private sectors, and that there must be a real partnership between all parties, indicating that this industry has accurate accounts and sensitive balances that must be taken into account when preparing economic and social feasibility accounts, including as it creates public opinion and ensures the safety of society, which is a responsibility National and ethical accounts for financial and promotional production costs.

During a dialogue session within the workshop, the Prime Minister responded to the audience’s interventions, noting the important role of dramatic and cinematic artworks in giving the true civilized image of the authenticity of the Syrian people and shedding light on the problems that the citizen suffers from, in addition to the awareness role in light of the spread of extremist ideas far from the morals of the Syrian people .

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of developing practical and clear proposals in partnership between the Ministry of Information, the Film and Television Industry Committee and the Artists Syndicate to develop the artistic product and improve the reality of the drama and cinema industry as it contributes to supporting the national economy in addition to improving the reality of workers in the drama, cinema and artists sectors.

The Prime Minister called on those who left abroad, including a number of artists, to return to the homeland and contribute to the reconstruction in light of the issuance of Amnesty Decree No. 7 of 2022 and confirmed, based on the interventions, that the implementation of Decree No. 33 of 2011 related to the amounts received by public authorities for works will be scrutinized.
