REPORT - In the Monterrey region, in the north of the country, a historic drought makes it possible to explore previously inaccessible areas.

It is not yet 8 a.m. but the thermometer is already approaching 30°C.

The air is thick, suffocating this Saturday morning in the place of the disappeared, in the center of Monterrey.

This modest square is punctuated by painted portraits or, for the most recent, large-format printed photos.

All these faces make up the missing of Nuevo Leon, 6,245 for about fifty years, according to the national register.

Like every Saturday, it is the rallying point for volunteers from the association Les Recherches du Nuevo Leon.

All wear a white T-shirt with a photo of their missing loved one on the back.

A hug, a smile, banalities about daily life, these people know each other well, sometimes for several years.

The research of the day is located about thirty kilometers away, in the city of Juarez, at the exit of Monterrey.

Usually flows the Santa Catarina river, today almost dry.
