This Monday, a terrible construction accident occurred in the Georges-Pompidou room, Gambetta boulevard in Marines, shortly before 11:30 a.m.

A worker from the Gilles Travaux company was busy renovating the lighting in the village hall when the 7 m high scaffolding on which he was working fell.

The unfortunate, aged 48, was seriously injured in his fall.

Part of the installation also fell on him.

When the emergency services of the departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis 95) arrived on the spot, he was unconscious.

He was transported in absolute urgency to the Beaujon hospital in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine).

The boss of the company, with which the municipality is used to working, was also on the site.

This 58-year-old man was at the foot of the scaffolding when it collapsed.

Very shocked and suffering from leg pain, he was rushed to the Sainte-Marie d'Osny clinic.

The municipal team under the influence of emotion

"It's very shocking, we're waiting for news but the latest we've had is really not good.

“The entire town hall of the small town of Marines was under the influence of emotion on Monday, as confided by the mayor (SE) Nadine Ninot.

The huge scaffolding had been erected by the service provider inside the building in order to carry out major energy renovation work.

All the heating and lighting in this heavily used multi-purpose room needed to be reviewed.

It was on Monday that the team really began to work, but a few hours after the start of the construction site, the scaffolding collapsed.
