Monarch, head of state, pub owner?

Queen Elizabeth II could soon slip into a new and unfamiliar role.

There is a pub on her Norfolk estate that the Queen wants to breathe new life into.

The chances of further royal guests are good.

West Newton - "The Crown", "The Queen's Head", "The Old Royal" - Royal pub names are a dime a dozen, after all pubs are an integral part of British culture.

Queen Elizabeth II (96) also seems to be a big fan of pubs, the regent wants to open her own pub.

As a look at the tender for the "Landles" real estate agency reveals, the two-storey building was built between 1880 and 1900 in the Edwardian style.

The former private club is located in the idyllic village of West Newton, just a short walk from Sandringham House, the Queen's country home.

High visitor in the pub?

It is doubtful whether Queen Elizabeth will stop by for a quick lunch or a cool refreshment after the opening.

The 96-year-old is said to have restricted her alcohol consumption a few months ago on the advice of her doctors.

But she certainly still can't say no to her favorite drink "Dubonnet".

The pub in West Newton can probably still expect royal visitors.

The British royal family has been spending the Christmas holidays in Sandringham for years, and the ducal couple of Cambridge can even be seen there more often.

In addition to a cottage in Scotland, Prince William (40) and Kate Middleton (40) also own the Anmer Hall country estate, which is also part of the Sandringham Estate.
