Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed Russia's support for Serbia in the face of Kosovo's provocations against it.
And the Russia Today website quoted Peskov as telling reporters: "Despite the success in avoiding an exacerbation of the conflict and postponing it for one month, it is necessary to be careful," stressing at the same time "the need to respect all the rights of Serbs in the region."
In response to journalists' question about Serbia's accession to the CSTO, Peskov made it clear that this issue was not on the agenda.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the Kosovo authorities, the United States and the European Union to stop provocations and respect the rights of Serbs in the region, stressing that "the application of the rules for the forced replacement of personal documents of Serbs as of the first of next month is a step towards their expulsion from Kosovo."
