The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian army has introduced a new warship to the Black Sea Fleet.
The Ministry's press service said in a statement today: "The recently developed Sergei Kotov ship joined the Black Sea Fleet, which will be part of the formation of protecting the waters of the Novorossiysk Naval Base."
The statement pointed out that the ship's crew will soon begin conducting exercises to perform patrol duties on board, after which it will start training to include it in combat missions.
The Sergey Kotov ship was lowered into the waters for the first time in January 2021, and sea trials began on it at the end of October of the same year.
