Special permit for construction site bypass: Now only "absolutely exceptional cases"

Some had already hoped for a pass. But one thing is certain: Only in exceptional cases will drivers be allowed to bypass the complete closure on the B307 via side streets.

Some had already hoped for a pass.

But one thing is certain: Only in exceptional cases will drivers be allowed to bypass the complete closure on the B307 via side streets.

Hausham/Schliersee

– Simply put a note under the windshield and then enjoy free travel between Hausham and Schliersee: that’s how many residents who were plagued by the full closure of the B307 that started on Monday understood the announcement by Schliersee Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer (CSU), man will issue special permits for the use of the side roads leading past the construction site if there is a "legitimate interest" (we reported).

The number of calls on Friday morning in the Schliersee town hall was correspondingly high - and the disappointment and anger was at least as great when it became clear that the hoped-for pass would not be given.

A real “shitstorm” then also broke out over the Hausham municipal administration.

As reported, word got around among motorists – including via social networks – that Hausham had vetoed the model presented by Schnitzenbaumer and thus brought it down.

Not true, says a noticeably annoyed mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG).

"We have always agreed with Schliersee and will continue to do so." It was agreed that transit permits would only be granted in "absolutely exceptional cases".

The road traffic regulations do not allow anything else.

As an example, Zangenfeind cites patient visits by general practitioners and nursing services, drug deliveries from pharmacies and private emergencies,

Individual decisions instead of paper permits

Schnitzenbaumer emphasizes that all of this has only been worked out over the past few days.

That is why he deliberately formulated the first announcement in the municipal council carefully.

In an interview with our newspaper, he literally spoke of an “exemption”.

In the meantime, some reasons for exceptions have been defined more precisely and it has been agreed to leave it at individual decisions.

Paper permits, as promised, would not have been practical, the mayor said.

Ultimately, it's not about people or license plates, but about a specific situation that makes the abbreviation necessary.

In cases where this is planned and occurs repeatedly, those affected could report to the two town halls.

"We collect and bundle that," explains Schnitzenbaumer.

If there is a police check, you can refer to this regulation.

In unforeseen situations, you have to explain them to the officials in a credible way.

In principle, however, the police are involved in the actions of the municipalities.

Local residents would of course have free travel.

However, day trippers or people passing through are explicitly excluded from the regulation, says Zangenfeind.

Corresponding signs have been set up on the routes via Geißstraße (towards Schliersee) and Althausham (towards Hausham).

This, too, in consultation and in both communities, according to Zangenfeind.

Mayor shocked by wild insults

The mayor is all the more annoyed that some would try to play the agencies involved off against each other.

"None of us wants to annoy anyone or even cause harm," says Zangenfeind.

But he was almost dismayed by the massiveness and also the level at which some would express their displeasure.

By that he means not only the sometimes malicious e-mails, but also angry callers who would verbally abuse city hall employees.

Something like that, stresses Zangenfeind, doesn't work at all.

"Everyone should maintain a minimum of decency."
