Erding

– You had to warm up a bit, the Sinnflut fans.

If they came to the culture festival, which took place for the 28th time this year, on the opening weekend in a reserved manner, they flocked to the Erdinger Volksfestplatz in droves for the finale.

Peter Feller and Börnie Sparakowski, organizers from the very beginning, are satisfied - and exhausted.

You and your team have had a lot to do over the past eleven days - and to compensate for a number of short-term absences.

"People were having fun.

We got a lot of positive feedback," says Feller happily: "And that's the most important thing for us." In addition to the many other festivals that took place elsewhere on the first Sinnflut weekend, you also noticed the heat.

Especially on the first Sunday it was very hot during the day with well over 30 degrees.

"Too hot," says Sparakowski, so that he could send a message afterwards: "But better than rain." In view of the high temperatures, people simply only came to the site later.

The stand operators also felt this.

Nevertheless, everyone is satisfied, says Feller: "They thanked us for the party." On the second weekend, the stands were very well attended and shopping was also done.

"It was a nice start again," explains Sparakowski after two Corona years.

There were smaller performances on the stage there, but DJs also played.

Beppo Herrmann, who has been grilling Steckerlfisch at Sinnflut for over 20 years, draws a positive balance: “The start wasn't that great, but from Saturday it was fine.

In terms of feeling, it was the way it should be.” It was clear to him that it wouldn’t go from 0 to 100 like before Corona.

People didn't comment that he had to raise prices for the first time in nine years because fish and charcoal had become more expensive.

On the contrary: you were generous with the tip.

Incidentally, Herrmann defied the heat behind the grill with a proven remedy: “Drink, drink, drink – and eat lots of fruit.” He emptied four large bottles of water and three non-alcoholic Russn beers on each Sinnflut day.

"It's really pushing, you can work well there," says Erdinger.

He lost a good three kilos in eleven days.

It was also hot for some visitors at the performances of the bands.

The rockagillys and glam gang thrilled on both Saturday evenings and lured the fans to dance in front of the stage.

Sparakowski had to find replacements for four bands at short notice – Corona.

Luckily, Dr.

Will & The Wizards filling in for Forged Polish Papers.

"The madness," says Feller.

One of his personal highlights.

DJ Dino Horn is a cult for Sparakowski.

Altenerdinger Andreas Brenninger played German hits in the Tanzgarten last Saturday.

"It was amazing what was going on.

People went along with it and sang along.”

What the organizers are particularly pleased about: There have been no major crises, as Feller puts it.

But smaller, short-term failures in the already scarce staff.

"You have to go in there yourself.

I did the dishes for a few days because nobody was there," he says.

Two thirds of the team were new this year, but everyone stuck together well.

The relaxed mood is also reflected in the police report: "Peaceful as always," reported Harald Pataschitsch, deputy police officer in Erding.

The Sinnflut security had no operations either.

According to Feller, the paramedics were also hardly busy.

Once they had to help because a wasp had stung someone's tongue.

Feller, Sparakowski and their team have been busy dismantling since Monday.

They will be done with it on Friday.

Feller: "That's sporty." You will make it - as always.
