All These Things We Didn't Say

is the series adaptation of a bestseller by Marc Levy, nine thirty-minute episodes.

Creator and showrunner of fiction, the successful novelist co-signs the screenplay and even plays one of the secondary characters.

A robot like his father

A few days before her wedding, Julia (Alexandra Maria Lara), learns that her father, Michel (Jean Reno), with whom she has been in conflict for a very long time, has just died suddenly.

Until the end, her father will have succeeded in turning her life upside down, she thinks ironically.

However, she is not at the end of her surprises when she receives a huge wooden crate at home.

This contains a robot, the exact replica of his father.

This larger-than-life android possesses all the memory and even the character of Michel.

Then begins a long and surreal conversation between father and daughter.

Julia will rediscover her father, and vice versa.

They each give themselves a second chance.

Besides, is it really too late to make peace?

Presented at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival,

All These Things We Didn't Say to Each Other

was not unanimously approved by journalists, far from it.

It is true that the starting point of the story is eccentric to say the least, the general atmosphere bizarre, and the actors – apart from Jean Reno, impeccable – not convinced by what they have to play.

Jean Reno has the complicated task of interpreting a very touching robot: “

It's a bet

,” he told us in Monaco.

This role is indeed very strange and it's such a big deal that it was better to play it as naturally as possible, without thinking about it... or else pretend, when I received the script, that I couldn't be reached , gone on a boat!

(Laughs.)

More seriously, this Michel wants to be loved and he doesn't know how to say things

And him, what would he have wanted to say to his father?

Does he have regrets for things not told to his children?

“

My father may not have said certain things to me or shown me tenderness, because he came from another time, but he built me!

To my children, I don't say: “Do this, do that”, because they are smarter than us, but I am present and I say to them “I love you”, and so do they.

That's the answer: be there at the right time.

The actor with an international career is highly coveted by series producers.

During the Covid, the phone did not stop ringing for series.

It's really luck, because my next projects are for the cinema!

Marc Levy, author and actor

In

All These Things We Didn't Say

, Marc Levy, who adapts his novel here, plays (with more or less success) the role of Robert, the best friend and confidant of Julia, the heroine.

The director of the series, Miguel Courtois, who is also a very close friend, offered me to play this character, with whom I lived for months while writing

it, he confided to the Festival de la Monte Carlo television.

He invited me to go to the other side of the mirror!

I couldn't say no to the chance to meet my heroine in real life.

It was magical !

Marc Levy has already seen several of his books adapted for television (

Where are you?

on M6) and for the cinema (

And if it were true?

and

My friends, my loves

).
