Naypyidaw, SANA- An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted eastern Myanmar today, but no earthquake was reported.

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit eastern Myanmar today, but no casualties or damage were reported.

The quake hit 29 km east of Qingtung district in Shan State, at a depth of 9 km, at 21.27 degrees north latitude and 99.89 degrees east longitude, Xinhua news agency quoted the Myanmar Meteorological and Hydrological Administration as saying today.

On the 21st of last month, an earthquake measuring 5.58 on the Richter scale hit eastern Myanmar, without causing any casualties or damage.
