A method for watering pots quickly (@0witchhunt10/TikTok)
House plants add a lot of charm to the house, but it is very difficult to keep them "alive" and the heat wave really does not make it easier.
If you too are trying to revive your plants during this hot season, you are not alone.
Although there are plants that thrive in heat, most will need extra water, love and attention.
David Dumonay, an expert gardener on the subject, shared with the British Sun tips on how to deal with house plants in the summer and save them even if they wither prematurely.
"Put the noble cypress directly in a bucket of water," he explained, "you'll see bubbles come out and wait until they disappear. Take out the moist plant, make sure it doesn't dry out and it should come back to life again."
According to the professional, this method is called "implantation" and it can work wonders on withered/dead plants.
Obviously, if your seedling is completely dead, there is no point in trying to revive it.
If you are not sure whether your seedling can still be saved or not, there is a method to check this - just remove the dark brown part of the leaves to see if there is still some green underneath.
Even when the peak heat is behind us, it's still summer and you still need to protect your houseplants from the sun.
One way is to cool the leaves on hot days to prevent them from withering and make them grow - with the help of spraying water using a Spitzer bottle.
If one of the leaves is already dead, remove it from the plant and put all the energy into the growing leaves.
Continue to water the pot before the day becomes too hot, or after it cools down in the evening if you are not a morning person - when the recommendation is to do it early in the morning or around 19:00 in the evening.
