Local and long-distance traffic between Munich and Augsburg are currently disrupted.
The Bavarian Regiobahn spoke of an arson attack and vandalism.

According to the federal police, there is damage to a cable duct near Mering in the Aichach-Friedberg district (Swabia).

The cause is still unclear, as a police spokesman said on Monday (August 1).
"We don't know yet whether it's wear and tear or the effects of third parties."
The Bavarian Regiobahn spoke in a statement of an arson attack and vandalism.
Forensic technicians are on site to investigate the damage.

Rail traffic between Munich and Augsburg disrupted - local and long-distance traffic affected
According to a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn, two local and two long-distance tracks were affected.
Local traffic should be able to be used again on Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
The tracks for long-distance traffic should probably be released again on Wednesday morning (3 August).
According to the information, the IC trains between Karlsruhe and Munich were canceled between Augsburg and Munich, and other connections were diverted.
