Attack on the Vitry police station with a Molotov cocktail: the cellars of the sector searched

The situation has returned to normal around the Vitry-sur-Seine police station.

The authorities, however, refused to provide a report on this search operation, which aims to collect any remaining Molotov cocktails, weapons or any sign of participation in the attack from Sunday night to Monday.

Other operations could be carried out

The police headquarters only specifies that "security operations will continue in the sector, and in others, as much as necessary".

The territorial security of 94 is responsible for investigating this "coordinated" attack which surprised the police around one o'clock in the morning.

Several people, all dressed in black, attacked the police station, first throwing Molotov cocktails at the back of the building, then firing mortars at the facade.

The police officers targeted managed to get out of the police station to try to arrest the attackers.

They used tear gas canisters, but again they came under renewed fire, this time from mortars.

The attack lasted a total of at least 45 minutes, and up to twenty people were said to have taken part in it.

Two police vehicles were also partly destroyed by the mortar fire that followed, in the Lucien-Français city.

Two police officers suffered a seven-day work stoppage suffering from tinnitus.

An individual was arrested.
