2022-08-02T20:29:29.265Z

Nir Barkat and Israel Katz fight for the higher place • Danny Danon and Gilad Sharon came out of the list • Yonatan Urich withdrew from the race • Osher Shekelim and Dor Haralf against his uncle Laniado • And Galit Distel Atabrian leads a militant line • All the details about the upcoming Likud primaries

The main thing on which there is a consensus in Likud is that the primaries to be held on August 10 are defined as extremely difficult compared to the past.

The reason for this is the change in the method, and the fact that there are many candidates and the list is crowded.

The main struggle is between the Nir Barkat camp and the Israel Katz camp, who are preparing for the day after the Netanyahu era.

There is a battle between the two who will get a higher place in the primaries, and each camp wants its people not to choose candidates identified with the other side.

Another battle is between Danny Danon and Gilad Sharon.

Between the two there is a rivalry for entering the list, after coming outside of it.

Sharon was one of the senior members of the Farm Forum, which supported secession and is now raising objections among members of the right.

However, he has worked extensively in Likud territory in recent years.

On the other hand, Danon is fighting secession and is being appreciated for his role as ambassador to the United Nations. He is rebuilding his supporters' camp and enjoying the status he had in the past, which gives him an advantage.

Boaz Bismut, the former editor of Israel Hayom, is also a well-known name from outside, who is running in my country and is building on the support of free voices, alongside media personality Erez Tadmor, who is also running in my country.

The confrontation in the Tel Aviv district came to the attention of the Likud chairman, Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu would not want to see his uncle Laniado, who was previously convicted of breaking into houses, on the list, for fear that he would steal votes from the Likud.

Today it was published for the first time on the Israel Hayom website and app that Netanyahu contacted Bismuth and asked him to run in the primaries for the place reserved for the Tel Aviv district, and not on the national list.

Bismuth refused the request.

In his view, the 38th place designated for the Tel Aviv district is a distant and unrealistic place, which does not match his status and experience, and he is convinced that he will be placed higher in the national list.

Also, Yonatan Urich, Netanyahu's spokesman, announced that he would run in the Tel Aviv district in an attempt to stop Lenaido, but withdrew from the race within a few days.

Therefore, those who are currently facing Lenaido are Usher Shekels from Holon and the Haralaf generation who petitioned against Lenaido to the Likud court.

militant line

Apart from the power struggles of the contestants coming from outside, the new MKs are fighting among themselves for their place. Ofir Katz, for example, focuses his campaign on presenting the achievements he has brought in the social fields, in health in the periphery and in the fight against abuses in nurseries. On the other hand, Galit Distel Atbarian focuses on the judicial system and leads her campaign the more militant line of the Likud against the left.
