According to the feasibility study, a fire station, also with expansion possibilities, is possible on the area of the council chambers with the "Makarska grill".

The municipal council of Feldafing is in favor of an extension to the old town hall, with the Villa Maria being used separately.

The new fire station is to be built there: the council chambers with the Makarska-Grill restaurant are to be replaced.

The space would be sufficient, but the decision on the citizens' petition and subsequent referendum on the preservation of the restaurant is still pending.

Feldafing

- The feasibility study for the municipal property of the council chambers with the Makarska grill shows: A fire station with the necessary capacities has space on the site.

The municipal council was impressed by the study that Sebastian Kittelberger from the Dasch, Zürn und Partner office, an expert on fire stations, presented at the most recent council meeting.

The planning challenge was to integrate the listed Villa Maria.

"The Monuments Office has a clear idea of how to deal with the building," explained the architect.

The unique selling point of the villa must not be overshadowed by the new development.

Kittelberger presented three variants: a free-standing fire station that is not connected to the Villa Maria, a fire station that is spatially connected to the villa and whose rooms are used by the fire department, and an extension to the villa without merging the two buildings.

The council voted for the third option.

The spatial divisions are similar for all three options: The two-storey building houses the large vehicle hall with the exit for the fire engines on Tutzinger Straße, changing rooms on the ground floor, which allow a so-called black and white separation in order to keep as little soot and dirt as possible from the operation to the house, a respiratory protection and a hose workshop as well as training and recreation rooms on the upper floor.

All three sketches showed that the height of the fire station is slightly lower than that of Villa Maria.

The variant that makes the rooms of the villa usable for the fire brigade naturally envisages an extension to the villa and connections on each floor.

The latter would not be easy, according to Kittelberger, because the height of the building and the floors are different.

There would be a central foyer, and offices could be accommodated on the upper floor of the villa.

"But the wardrobe would be on the ground floor, in the nicest area of the house," said Kittelberger with regret.

The third variant, extension with other uses of the old building, "we think is ideal," said the architect.

In this variant, the new building does not connect to the old town hall at a right angle, but turns away slightly.

This makes the floor plan asymmetrical.

Another advantage of this variant is that there could also be parking spaces for the bakery opposite.

And possible storage rooms for Feldafinger clubs, he explained when asked by Sibylle Härtl (Greens).

Kittelberger stressed that his presentation was not a finished draft.

"It's more about considering whether the location makes sense and how you could integrate the old building," he said.

This is possible with all three variants.

This was also emphasized by Dr.

Michael Keltsch (ON).

"We don't choose a design, it's about whether it fits," he said.

That was successful: "We can deal with the parking spaces, and the monument compatibility is in prospect."

According to commander Dirk Schiecke, the active members of the fire brigade also tend towards variant 3. He recalled that trouble was inevitable if Villa Maria was used for a lot of public traffic or apartments.

Mayor Bernhard Sontheim assured that nothing should change in the current use of the villa with the municipal planning company Pewu and the municipal water supply.

The architectural office has also calculated possible costs.

For the first variant, 6.9 million euros would be due, if you add the renovation of the villa, it is 8.1 million euros.

Variant 2 is estimated to cost 7.3 million euros, 1.2 million of which for the villa.

The third option is 6.2 or 7.4 million with Villa.

Nandl Schultheiss (CSU) was against it.

"All three designs are too big for me," she said.

The architect was commissioned to draw the minimally required version of a fire station in variant 3.

The administration was commissioned by the municipal council to prepare the award procedure.

Voting on Citizens' Petitions

Today's Feldafinger municipal council (beginning: 7 p.m. in the town hall) is about the citizens' initiative, which is directed against a fire station on the Ratsstuben area.

The council has to vote on the admissibility of the citizens' request, wants to initiate a council request and formulate a key question.

The date for the citizen and council decision is also set.
