Sunday morning, around 6 a.m., a crashing noise woke up the Afghan capital, plunged into the torpor of summer.
The Kabulites initially believed in yet another attack:
"The first thing that came to mind was that the explosion had not taken place very close to my home, and that my family and my neighbors were therefore surely safe,”
admits Sumaima Sediqi, 24.
She and her husband first made sure that all their friends were well:
"The din was heard all over the city, so we thought it must have been a big attack,"
she continues.
Then the young woman got down to some household chores.
“The explosions are part of the daily life of Afghans, they are like news items.
And at the moment, as long as we are not directly affected, we are concentrating on other worries: the economic crisis, the ambient sadness, the search for a job...",
