In terms of energy, yes.

The Germans have chosen both renewable energies - solar and wind - and Russian gas.

But they have above all made the choice to abandon nuclear power.

This abandonment is not only due to ecological reasons;

it is explained above all by the fact that Germany did not have the industrial leadership in the nuclear field.

Initially, there was Franco-German cooperation: Siemens had 30% in the company that was to manufacture the EPRs, Areva having the rest.
