The Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Quneitra estimated the production of more than five thousand tons of apples for the current agricultural season.
According to the director of Quneitra Agriculture, Eng. Ahmed Deeb, this season witnessed a noticeable increase in the governorate's production of apples, after the production amounted last year to 4,924 tons.
The Director of Agriculture pointed out, in a statement to SANA, that new areas of the lands planted with apples in the governorate have entered the agricultural plan, especially in the villages and towns of the northern countryside, indicating that the area of lands planted with apples in Quneitra amounted to 7200 dunams.
It is noteworthy that apple cultivation is mostly concentrated in the northern sector of the governorate, in the villages of Hadar, Al-Amal farms cluster, Al-Hells, Nabe' Al-Fawwar, Al-Kom and Khan Arnabah, while most of the planted trees belong to the types of styrene and golden.
