Goodbye to the sergeant and hello to the boss: veterans? This is how you will integrate correctly in the labor market | Israel Hayom

First step - what is your goal? • The next steps: don't rule out temporary jobs, invest in resumes and keep in mind that the job interview is your ticket to enter the organization

In the path of life in Israel, the army is the last "clear and predetermined" stop.

So far things have been arranged and the next step is clear.

That is, the army is the last stage where they "dictate" what to do, what is expected and how to behave.

That's why when they "step over their citizens" and step outside the UNSC, the hourglass of thoughts about the future starts to run.

So how do you start?

In the first stage we will review what we have experienced so far: studies, work, army, youth movement, volunteering and more, when the questions are what I enjoyed more, what interested me more and where I felt I was growing and developing.

These are questions that arise for many young people after being released, and precisely for this purpose we created a collaboration with an organization called "Unitech", which helps young people after the army to get their first opportunity in the workplace.

All steps to work

as part of the cooperation Manpower operates, free of charge, a dedicated call center that gives veterans support and assistance in finding work, assistance in drafting resumes, preparation for job interviews, employment guidance, and more.

First step - what is the goal?

Are you looking for a job that will help you save money in a short time to go on the big trip after the army?

Maybe you want a job that is suitable for the study period or rather one where you can maintain stability and develop a career?

Second step - do not deny temporary jobs

important and necessary work experience, and temporary work provides opportunities that are difficult to get in other cases.

Temporary work will teach you about the labor market and will provide you with important skills of team integration, study techniques and more, which will serve you later in your career.

Also, you can learn about yourself with it - what you are good at, what you like to do.

Third step - invest in the

resume A current and accurate resume is a "must".

Check that they are well written and proofread.

On the Internet you can find examples and templates.

Remember: no one expects you to have a long resume after the army.

Tell about your studies or courses you took, the role you played in the army, volunteering you took part in and more.

Step four - did you get a response?

Answer quickly

if they get back to you following the resume you sent, answer as soon as possible and be flexible about the date of the job interview, even if it comes at the expense of plans with the guys.

Step Five - Is the job interview your ticket to enter the organization

you've been invited to?

This is the moment to play it.

Don't be late (be a little early!), and dress appropriately for the position you are interviewing for.

No tank tops, no shorts and no items that stand out too much.

Do your homework, learn about the organization you are applying to and the specific position, and prepare examples that illustrate your uniqueness and the strengths you bring to the position.

Step six - starting on the right foot

Did you pass the interview?

magnificent.

In order to be successful in the job, you must follow a few rules: arrive on time, dress accordingly, learn the organization and dynamics, and behave as expected.

Seventh step - don't stop looking for the right place

Did you pass the interview?

magnificent.

You have not passed - despair is not an option.

The big goal is to keep looking for the right place.

Our lives are full of good experiences and a little less.

If we didn't succeed in something, we will learn from the lack of success and move on to the next challenge.
