The US Democrat and top politician is on a trip to Asia - and apparently also visits Taiwan, which is in conflict with China.
Washington - indications of Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan: The Chair of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi could get off the plane in the capital Taipei as early as Tuesday (August 2) - and China is apparently making threatening gestures.
Several Chinese warplanes were spotted near the Taiwan Strait border this morning, an insider said.
This was reported by the Reuters news agency.
Pelosi Beusch would be the highest-ranking visit by a US politician to Taiwan, which Beijing's communist leadership sees as part of the People's Republic of China, in a quarter of a century.
With the unannounced visit as part of her trip to Asia, the top politician would ignore urgent warnings from Beijing - in which possible military countermeasures were also indicated.

Pelosi trip to Taiwan?
China threatens to 'play with fire'
China's head of state and party leader Xi Jinping warned US President Joe Biden in a telephone call last Thursday before the visit: "Those who play with fire will perish." From the Chinese leadership's point of view, Taiwan is part of the People's Republic, although it was governed independently even before it was founded in 1949.
The island of Taiwan, which has a population of 23 million, has long considered itself independent.
With reference to its "One China Doctrine", Beijing firmly rejects official contacts from other countries to the government in Taipei.
The US has adopted a policy of "strategic ambiguity" with regard to Taiwan - without specifying whether it would intervene militarily in the event of a Chinese invasion.
While Washington does not officially recognize Taiwan as an independent state, it supports the country's government.
