16 members of the Knesset appealed to the Speaker of the Knesset, MK Miki Levy, to hold a special discussion in the Knesset plenum in preparation for the Jewish ascension to the Temple Mount on Tisha B'Av.

The Knesset members' letter states that: "The Tisha B'Av fasting day, when the Jewish people mark the day of the destruction of the Temples, will fall on Sunday. As every year, many Jews arrive with the goal of ascending to the Temple Mount on this day. According to all the estimates of the temple organizations that monitor the numbers of those who seek to ascend the Mount the Temple, many thousands will arrive at the entrance to the Mount, and try to exercise their right to ascend to the Temple Mount on this day. The organization 'Bidno - for the sake of the Temple Mount' has been alerting all concerned parties for about a month about the number of immigrants, as well as the need for special assessments in preparation for this day, in order to prevent Images and a dangerous reality, images that were already seen at the entrance to the mountain on the last Jerusalem day."

The MKs emphasized that: "The lack of preparation and the irregularity of the ascent to the Temple Mount on this day, at the height of the heat and during fasting, will pose a clear danger to public peace, when the memory of last year's events in Miron hovers over us all.

Unfortunately, as reported by the organization, so far none of the aforementioned parties have responded to his requests, and to the best of our knowledge, no preliminary discussions have been held in the relevant offices to prepare for this important day."

The letter sent to Knesset Speaker Miki Levy,

As mentioned, according to the report of the "Bidino" organization, construction work is required to expand the entrance to the Temple Mount, and to build a new and safe bridge. The report suggests, among other things, to extend the visiting hours of the Jews on rush hour days and to allow immigrants to enter the Mount on a regular basis, rather than in groups small and limited.

"There is no reason for going up to the Temple Mount to look like a war in trying to go up and enter."
