Damascus University and the Military Housing Corporation signed today a memorandum of understanding with the aim of strengthening and strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of research, training and development, and establishing a center for research, studies and engineering development to serve the dissemination of knowledge and the continuity of qualification for scientific and technical cadres and community service.
Under the memorandum signed by Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, President of Damascus University, and Major General Engineer Fawza Ibrahim Al-Bari, Director General of the Military Housing Corporation, the two sides will cooperate to establish a center for joint research, studies and engineering development within the institution, under the supervision of a joint scientific council between the Corporation and the Higher Institute for Research and Seismic Studies at the university, with the aim of benefiting from the The technical capabilities and competencies of the institution, the technical and scientific expertise of the Institute, and the interaction between them in the human field, infrastructure and laboratories in each of them.
According to the five-year memorandum that can be extended with the consent of the two parties, the Higher Institute for Research and Seismic Studies at the University of Damascus allows the institution’s employees to carry out postgraduate studies “Master’s and PhD” to qualify them and raise their scientific level, in addition to conducting research in areas that are related to the actual reality and the work environment of the institution. Studying and analyzing them, eliciting solutions, and then employing them on the scope of the Foundation's projects throughout Syria.
The memorandum also stipulated the organization of seminars, professional and applied courses, workshops and conferences that benefit both sides, so that the Foundation places the halls and facilities available to it to facilitate the establishment of seminars prepared by researchers at the Research, Studies and Engineering Development Center in the Foundation, while providing material and moral support for the workshops and conferences conducted by the Foundation And the institute according to the available possibilities.
In a statement to the media following the signing of the memorandum, the President of Damascus University stressed the importance of establishing an academic scientific research center within the Military Housing Corporation, which will result in high-level scientific and academic cooperation and a large number of joint scientific research and studies, expressing his hope that the memorandum will be reflected in the development of the reality of work in the field of building and construction. .
In turn, the Land Brigade considered that the memorandum constitutes an important opportunity that will open new horizons for the institution to cooperate with the Higher Institute for Research and Seismic Studies in more than one field, and there will be an emergency plan for the rehabilitation and training of the institution's cadres at the university.
