The vicarage in Neukirchen may no longer be entered.

It would have to be renovated, but the parish association cannot finance that.

Should it come to the sale, the community does not want to stand idly by.

Weyarn

– The parish letter made it known: The local parish association can no longer finance the Neukirchen vicarage.

The listed building was therefore returned to the owner, the Pfarrpfründe Foundation in Munich, which, according to the community, intends to sell it.

Access is currently blocked for security reasons.

The clubs had to remove their flag cabinets from the vicarage.

Ministrant hours and the annual parish festival in the building are no longer possible.

Now the municipality of Weyarn is considering a purchase - if such a thing is in question and it can be afforded.

In any case, the municipal council decided at its most recent meeting to issue a right of first refusal.

Mayor Leonhard Wöhr (CSU) explains that the owner of the listed vicarage is currently the Pfarrpfründe Foundation.

The building is very much in need of renovation.

"The roof is broken, 1.5 million euros would have to be put into it." Sounds like a large investment, but it is clear that the municipality is not simply giving the house and the associated area to the open market and thus possibly to non-local investors wants to leave.

The area is too sensitive for that.

To the south, for example, there is a piece of land belonging to the community on which the private special education center Irschenberg is housed.

There are public parking spaces in front of the vicarage on Pienzenauer Straße, of which there are no other in Neukirchen.

They are especially important for visitors to the church and cemetery.

The vicarage also characterizes the townscape due to its central location and should remain as accessible to the public as possible, according to the wish of the community.

There are many ideas for use

There are already ideas on how the house and property could be used.

The vicarage could become a meeting place - for the citizens in general, but also for clubs that could rehearse there or store their flags.

In the extensive "garden" the creation of affordable living space would be conceivable, for example for employees of the municipality and its institutions.

And part of the tree-covered area could be available to the children of the special needs school in the future.

All in all, the aim of the considerations is a sensible local development that benefits the general public.

However, the implementation of ideas also requires "counter-financing of the measures" from the secular municipality, since the municipality does not have the money for the purchase of the site and the renovation on the high edge, the mayor restricts expectations that are too high.

Can the community afford the purchase?

Mayor Wöhr does not yet know whether the church wants to sell its property or whether a long-term lease is an option.

The resolution for the right of first refusal is an intervention in the real estate trade, which the municipal council is aware of, he explains.

But the committee sees it as the appropriate and necessary means of securing urban development.

"We want to be able to act, but it's not yet clear whether we can really afford it."
