New corona rules have been in force in Austria since August 1, 2022.
The quarantine obligation no longer applies.
Some of the new regulations are absurd.
Vienna – In Austria, the quarantine obligation will no longer apply from Monday (August 1, 2022).
The new corona rules in the Alpine republic caused discussions in advance, because with a positive corona test anything is actually possible.
Corona infected people without symptoms are allowed to leave the house and also go to work.
Even restaurant visits are possible - but under certain conditions - a so -called ten-
day traffic
restriction applies .
Corona rules in Austria: Without symptoms, there is no longer a quarantine obligation
Anyone who has been proven to be infected with Sars-CoV-2 but does not feel sick no longer has to stay at home.
However, those who test positive must wear an
FFP2 mask
– unless they are in the open air and can keep a distance of two meters from other people.
It is also possible to work with a positive test – but only in occupations in which a mask can be worn.
"Anyone who is ill stays at home," summarizes the Austrian Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens).
Anyone who has symptoms must now actively get sick leave from a doctor. So far, a so-called separation notice was sufficient in Austria.
