One of Oatly's oat milks is among 53 specialty beverages that have been recalled due to possible bacterial contamination.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said Friday that Oatly Barista Edition oat milk, sold to food service groups and a variety of iced coffees, protein drinks and other non-dairy beverages flavored are affected.
The brands included in the recall are
Aloha, Glucerna, Imperial, Intelligentsia, Kate Farms, Lyons Barista Style, Lyons Ready Care, MRE, Pirq and Premier Protein.
The products are produced by Lyons Magnus, based in California.

To date, there have been no reported illnesses or complaints related to the products, according to the FDA, but it has advised against consuming the recalled products.

"Preliminary root cause analysis shows that the products did not meet specifications for commercial sterility," the FDA said.

The agency warned of contamination by
cronobacter sakazakii
bacteria that
can cause fever, vomiting and possible urinary tract infections.
It can also cause meningitis in some cases.
The FDA also highlighted that the expiration date of the products ranges from November 2022 to September 2023. To consult the batch number of each withdrawn product, you can visit this FDA link.
If you purchased one of these products you should either dispose of it or return it to where you bought it for a refund.
