A 19-year-old hiker was found dead on Tuesday August 2 after a fall, near the ski resort of Cauterets (Hautes-Pyrénées), about fifty kilometers south of Tarbes, the gendarmes said.

The victim had multiple traumas following a major fall
,” according to Gendarmerie Major David Sicilia.
The body of the young hiker, who had not returned to his accommodation on Sunday, was discovered by a shepherd.
At first, the bad weather conditions had made the search difficult, the gendarmes said.
