Russia has categorically denied allegations by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that the Russian army has taken the Zaporozhye atomic power plant in southern Ukraine as a military base.

The TASS news agency quoted the Russian delegation participating in the Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, "We reject these accusations altogether. There are no military forces at the Zaporozhye plant, but rather a limited number of military personnel to ensure the safety of the plant."

In turn, the authorities of the liberated territories in Zaporozhye expressed their readiness to provide the International Atomic Energy Agency with documented evidence of the fact that Ukrainian forces had targeted the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Presidium of the Military and Civilian Administration in the region, said, "Yesterday, Rafael Grossi, Director of the IAEA, announced the readiness of the IAEA delegation to visit the atomic power plant in the region, and for our part, we intend to present all documented and recorded facts that prove the occurrence of terrorist attacks on atomic power plants before. He pointed out that the region's authorities are waiting for an official notification from the agency regarding the expected date of the visit, stressing their readiness to ensure the mission's arrival.

It is noteworthy that representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency expressed last month their desire to visit the Zaporozhye plant and the local authorities granted them permission, but the Ukrainian authorities opposed the visit.
