The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the successful launch of a light (Soyuz 2.1V) space rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome carrying a military satellite, noting that the space forces followed its path.
"The combat crew of the Russian Aerospace Forces successfully launched yesterday a satellite-carrying rocket developed for the Russian Defense Ministry from the Plesetsk Military Research Cosmodrome," the Russian TASS news agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
The ministry added that the pre-launch and launch operations of the missile were carried out in a normal situation, and the launch and flight of the missile were controlled through a ground-based automated control complex.
