The Jurisprudence Scientific Council in the Ministry of Endowments stressed the importance of strengthening national unity and combating extremist ideology, calling on all Syrians to adhere to the factors of their victory and unity.
In the final statement of the expanded council meeting held at the International Levant Center to confront terrorism and extremism and spread the values of tolerance and moderation, the participants made it clear that contemporary challenges that imposed themselves on the Arab and international arenas after the failure of the first tools of conspiracy against Syria to achieve its goals require all Syrian citizens to adhere to the factors of their victory and national unity. The highest degree of caution is exercised in suspicious calls that target the intellectual security of the people by striking the value system and destroying the moral structure that characterizes this blessed land.
The statement pointed out that the catastrophic military failure suffered by the countries of aggression conspiring against Syria thanks to the blood of the martyrs of the righteous Syrian Arab Army and the historical steadfastness of its people and their support for their leader does not mean the end of the conspiracy that aims to bring down the homeland, but rather those countries are working to leave bright spots in history and exhume what is torn apart The country and the nation included.
The participants called for following the approach of collective ijtihad, which looks at all opinions and schools of jurisprudence and discusses contemporary issues through a realistic and scientific vision that simulates the mind and investigates the depth in understanding the texts and the link between the text and reality, between rituals and purposes, and maximizing the benefit from the comprehensive interpretation of the Holy Qur’an in all areas of the work of the religious institution.
The statement emphasized adherence to the ethical and ethical approach emphasized by President Dr. Bashar al-Assad through his numerous meetings with scholars, as it is the compass of religious work in Syria and the bulwark against intellectual, ideological and moral breakthroughs through which modern liberalism is trying to sabotage our societies.
The statement clarified that the Islamic-Christian relationship in Syria is not new or urgent for our society, nor is it a choice we have or an intellectual luxury that we practice. Rather, it is a well-established historical fact rooted in the Syrian collective consciousness. .
At the conclusion of the meeting, which was attended by senior Islamic scholars of all denominations, the teachers of the Noble Qur’an, and the directors of endowments in the governorates, it was decided to distribute the legal texts contained in Law No. 31 of 2018 AD regulating the work of the Ministry of Endowments on the criminalization of takfir, Wahhabism, the criminal Brotherhood, political Islam groups, and sectarian propositions and prejudices that affect unity. Patriotism to be a guide in controlling religious work and directing religious discourse in the correct national direction that preserves the moderation of Islam and safeguards the integrity of nations.
It was decided to form specialized scientific sub-committees according to the jurisprudence specializations to study the intellectual issues referred to them and to prepare research and scientific literature on topics that fall within the jurisdiction of the Council.
The scholars, members of the Jurisprudence Scientific Council, also sent a cable of thanks and loyalty to President Bashar al-Assad, vowing that this council would play a leading role in perpetuating moderate discourse and national unity.
