The phenomenon of the illegal drug trade:

According to a joint announcement issued by the Ministry of Health and the Tax Authority, today there are many illegal websites dealing with the sale and distribution of counterfeit drugs and drugs that have been stored in improper conditions and whose origin is unknown.
"Citizens around the world are putting their health and even their lives at risk by purchasing these drugs. Sometimes these shipments contain drugs that are defined as 'natural', but past experience has proven that they contained active medicinal as well as psychotic substances that caused hospitalizations and damage to the user's health," the statement said.
Joint teams of the customs units and the Department of Enforcement and Supervision of the Ministry of Health carried out a proactive inspection of the messengers.
The activity was carried out at all the inspection sites at customs and border crossings, passenger halls and parcel post at the Post's logistics center in Modi'in.
Among the results of the test: 33 packages containing drugs that were delayed for the pharmacists to check out of 639 statements, packages and bundles that were tested, among the drugs that were tested are injections that are believed to be the drug Botox, male enhancement drugs that were suspected to be fake, bulk pills without identification, nutritional supplements and slimming pills that contained an active medicinal substance.
The packages came mainly from Turkey, Jordan and India.
Also, the customs site where the largest amount of suspicious packages was seized is the parcel post office in Modi'in, where 20 packages were seized with an estimated amount of 4,519 units of male enhancement drugs, such as Kamagra gel.
At the Allenby Bridge crossing, 8 packages were seized among passengers, which included an estimated amount of 3,372 units of products of various types, such as slimming pills, injections that look like Botox and prohibited skin creams.
4 packages and transfers, with an estimated amount of 52 units of drugs to increase the male potency, were seized in Israel.
The activity data will be transferred to the database of the international operation, held under the auspices of Interpol, Europol, the World Customs Organization, the World Health Organization, the Forum to Combat Pharmaceutical Crime, and the International Task Force to Combat Counterfeit Health Products.
