Opinions in Germany differ widely about gender.

A yodel from Regensburg also made an alleged discovery in the sense of "gender madness".

Regensburg - Gender is a much-discussed issue in public.

Should you gender - yes or no?

And if so, how?

With an asterisk, colon or something completely different?

At a Nuremberg university, the gender dispute recently escalated because a guide entitled "Communicating with asterisks" was published.

The term “gender madness” is now often used jokingly.

"AutoInnenReiniger": Jodel user is irritated by "gender madness" with cleaning agents

On the online platform Jodel, on which anonymous users can report from their everyday lives, a user from Regensburg now shared a new case of "gender madness" with a photo with a wink.

On it you can see a cleaning agent from the brand "Sonax".

It is described as "car interior cleaner" - the Jodel user was irritated by this spelling.

"What are the capital letters in the middle of the word?" asks another user under the photo.

"Of course, otherwise all the minis etc. will feel disadvantaged," jokes one user.

Another can only explain it this way: "Someone was too stupid to use hyphens." It's obviously an internal I, says the author of the picture.

This spelling is usually used to address men and women in one word.

Confusion caused by the gender of the products: from "student feed" to "chicken inner fillet"

It is unclear why the manufacturers use this spelling.

After all, the price tag on the shelf mentions “car interior cleaner”.

In the supermarkets and discounters, however, there has often been confusion and excitement due to the gendering of the products.

For example, a “student feed” was discovered at the grocery store Edeka and caused a stir.

Edeka customers were also confused about the "chicken fillet".

However, the product description had nothing to do with gender language.

Quite the opposite: the term chicken fillet only refers to a part of the chicken breast.
