In a touching granddaughter, the granddaughter says goodbye to Aschheim's ex-local farmer Leonore Haller († 93).

Aschheim – “How should one put a whole life into words, your life, with all its facets and unique moments?

I mean, our life together!” In a very personal letter, granddaughter Amelie (26) says goodbye to her beloved grandmother Leonore (Lore) Haller.

She read the letter at the Aschheimerin's funeral service, who died at the age of 93.

In the letter, which is reminiscent of a life together, Amelie Haller looks for ways to deal with the loss.

The granddaughter has lived under one roof with her grandmother for the past four years.

The two women from such different generations shared their lives to a large extent: "We had a cool flat share - you on the ground floor, we upstairs." Amelie tells of unforgettable moments, "when we invited friends over and you just sat there until late at night, chatting along and joked.

We both have always sought contact with each other.”

Leonore Haller was involved in Aschheim for decades.

Leonore Haller was the kind of person who was interested in his fellow human beings throughout his life, who cared about community.

Born on a farm in Putzbrunn, she met her future husband Johann in 1953.

No one doubted that the two would be united for life.

After the wedding in the same year, the couple moved to the Summerer Hof in Aschheim.

In 2013 they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

The following year her husband died.

Together they raised three children.

Only with Johann did Leonore become a whole;

Conversely, the husband felt the same way.

Both lived for the Aschheim community.

Johann Haller was commander of the fire brigade.

In 1984, the two built their home base by living to the end.

All his life Leonore Haller regretted not having attended a higher school.

Circumstances didn't allow it.

She made a virtue out of necessity, was committed to the church and to the women's and mothers' association.

In 2007 she was made an honorary member.

At home she looked after the farm.

Lore Haller was a born farmer who loved her garden and her calves.

For a quarter of a century she was a local farmer in Aschheim.

Whether it was spinning, sewing, knitting, lace making, carpet knotting or peasant painting, Lore Haller mastered traditional manual work.

She sold herb bushes, palm bushes and Advent arrangements at countless markets.

As far as Amelie is concerned, her "Hall grandma" was there for her at all times and in every situation: "Whether it was after school, eating green soup at Grandma's, or that you would take us through town on a bike on a cushion you sewed yourself drove.

You were there when we needed a sympathetic ear and good advice.

You made us feel welcome and at home with you.

We got what we needed from you.

Unconditionally!"
